Working Knowledge: Shared Imaginings, New Futures

Bronx Museum, April 11 – July 6, 2025

At the Bronx Museum, Professor Alisha Wormsley and artist Kite continue their collaboration with Cosmologyscape, an interactive dream archive that transforms shared dreams into a collective digital quilt. Part of “Working Knowledge: Shared Imaginings, New Futures,” the installation invites audiences to contribute dreams via rest spaces, expanding an evolving dreamscape shaped by Lakota symbols and Black quilting traditions. The exhibition as a whole reimagines education beyond institutional boundaries, highlighting alternative, participatory knowledge systems rooted in community, ancestral wisdom, and digital innovation.

Warp and Weft: Technologies within Textiles

The Shepherd, January 25 – May 3, 2025

In “Warp and Weft: Technologies within Textiles,” curated by Allison Glenn at The Shepherd in Detroit, Wormsley in partnership with Sibyls Shrine transforms confessionals into Dream Chambers, immersive spaces housing video works, handmade pillows, and glass altars. Wormsley’s textiles, adorned with beaded and quilted dream representations, reflect a broader theme of weaving together inherited knowledge and new technologies. The exhibition draws connections between textile practices, computational systems, and the history of mechanization — from the Jacquard loom’s binary code to Detroit’s electronic music revolution. As part of the exhibition’s programming, Wormsley will lead a Day of Dreaming on April 26, a now sold-out workshop inviting participants to engage in collective dreaming as a form of artistic and spiritual practice.
